Csók István Képtár

The gallery is home to temporary exhibitions. Over the last six decades, it has been the scene of many significant, legendary, high-quality art event with which it has gained national and international fame.

Its fine art exhibitions presented artists and artistic tendencies that were rarely seen in museums in the 1960s and 1970s. The cultural impact of the venue extends far beyond the city limits.

In the long line of its events, the representative show of the well-known hungarian painter Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka (1963) has special significance in art history. Besides temporary exhibitions, Vilmos Aba-Novák’s monumental painting entitled Hungarian-French Historical Relations (1937) is occasionally also displayed in the building.
